EC-Council University has been granted accreditation for another five years by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC)
EC-Council University has been accredited by Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) since 2015 . According to EC-Council University, the school submitted a “Self Evaluation Report” as part of the accreditation process. The report and its accompanying documents represented an extensive effort by University staff to cover all aspects of university operations as required to evidence the meeting of all accreditation standards.
A peer review team of university experts assembled by the DEAC evaluated the body of evidence and conducted a site visit on in March of 2019. The team met and interviewed students, faculty, staff, board members and management and provided a report of the visit to the Commission. The Commission voted to renew the accreditation of EC-Council University for five years following a comprehensive evaluation of the institution and its programs and a determination that every accreditation standard has been met.
In letter of renewal of accreditation Dr. Leah Mathews, Executive Director of DEAC notes that:
“Accreditation by DEAC is a reliable indicator of the value and quality of the distance education that an institution offers. In receiving this renewal of accreditation, ECCU has demonstrated its commitment to educational standards and ethical business practices that assure quality, accountability and improvement in higher education.”
“Accreditation is a significate part of assuring our students that we are providing the best learning environment for academic success,” says Lata Bavisi, President of EC-Council University. “I congratulate all on campus for what this accreditation says about the quality of work and extend my deep gratitude to those who have worked extensively behind the scenes on this rigorous process, beginning with David Oxenhandler, our Vice President and Dr. Charline Nixon, our Dean of Academics, who led the effort.”
DEAC accreditation provides students with confidence that the institution has been evaluated and meets rigorous standards established by education industry professionals. It also increases and enhances employment opportunities for students who graduate from an accredited institution, verifies that the unique methods for delivering curricula are consistent with educational best practices and provides students with assurances that the education they are paying for is valuable and worth their time, money, and effort.
“As a DEAC accredited school, you can rest assured that our institution is true to its mission, goals, and objectives,” says David Oxenhandler, Vice President of EC-Council University.
DEAC accreditation allows institutions the option of participating in Federal Student Assistance and military programs to benefit students in need of financial assistance to realize their educational goals.
“When students start looking for a program, they want to know the information they see on a website is trustworthy,” commented by Tim Willard, spokesman for the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or CHEA. He believes that a good sign to assess is the accreditation of the institution. He also adds, “Not all accrediting groups are equal. To make sure the accrediting organization is legitimate, students should make sure it is recognized by either CHEA or the U.S. Education Department.”*
